Small Grant Funding Guidance Notes
Who is the Cawdor & West Nairnshire Community Benefit Organisation?
The Cawdor & West Nairnshire Community Benefit Organisation was set up in 2018 to administer funds from renewable energy operators to benefit the Cawdor & West Nairnshire community, with a particular emphasis to advance community development, including rural regeneration. To improve the quality of life, health, well-being and independence and to reduce social isolation of people in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability or social circumstances. To advance environmental protection or improvement, including maintenance, improvement or provision of environmental amenities, for the Community and the public.
What is a small grant?
A small grant is a grant of up to £500 that is available for expenditure on community groups and initiatives that will benefit the local area.
What projects will C&WNCBO support?
C&WNCBO supports project that seek improvement and make a difference in the local community, through the development and regeneration of the area.
Projects must be based within and of direct stated benefit to residents of the Cawdor & West Nairnshire Community Council area.

How do I apply?
Just download the small grant form which is available on line at www.windsofchangecawdor.com
Please complete the form electronically. The space under the questions will automatically expand. Once you have completed your application please submit it online. Applications are accepted at any time.
What happens next?
The application is checked by the C&WNCBO Secretary for completeness and is then forwarded by email to the C&WNCBO Trustees on the last day of each month, who in turn will review the application and make a grant award decision.
If your grant application is successful payment will be issued within 3 weeks of the previous month end.
What do I need to do when my project is complete?
At the end of your project C&WNCBO requests that you complete a Small Grant feedback form, which is available at www.windsofchangecawdor.com
We would also welcome any photos of your project that we could use on our website and other publicity material. Please ensure that you have appropriate permissions for the photos.
The funds may only be used for the purposes specified in the application form. Should you need to request a change of use for any funding you must submit your request in writing (or email) before committing or re-directing any funds.
If, for any reason your project is not completed, C&WNCBO must be notified immediately and any remaining funds must be returned to C&WNCBO for re-distribution to other project.
